"Art is pattern informed by sensibility." Sir Herbert Read

Not all trends are noteworthy. One that we at Simply Decorate have affectionately embraced is the chevron trend. I am not sure if you have noticed, but this trend is absolutely everywhere! Not only is chevron all over the D&D building, but also has taken the retail market by storm! This graphic pattern is so fun and poppy and it really seems to work well with any modern, eclectic decor. It's an instant updater! You know when space just seems to "need something", adding something chevron will usually do the trick to make a room really sing!

Chevron carpeting makes a graphic and bold statement!

This rug from West Elm is awesome and so affordable!

Jonathan Adler is a great option as well! What's great is you can get the rug below in any custom color you like!

Or... you could always make your own using a really inexpensive Ikea rug and some heavy duty upholstery paint! Click on the photo to see the tutorial!

Of course chevron on the walls or just one graphic wall makes an equally bold statement!

Design Sponge has a great tutorial on this as well! They show you how to make a chevron wall out of contact paper!

Upholstery pieces in chevron look really chic and while this does happen to be a huge trend right now, chevron is a classic pattern which makes it still a sensible choice! Of course if upholstering an entire sofa in chevron seems a little scary, pillows in this wonderful pattern really pop!

Urban Outfitters has an amazing chevron chair!

Check into West Elm for some really nice chevron pillows that are a little more subdued.

Or... if you are looking for something a little more bold, this pillow from Throw Pillow Decor on Etsy is a great option! For only $18.00 too!!

Now let's not forget about curtains!

Don't you just love this yellow shower curtain in the all white bathroom!?

Chevron curtains in gray are so very sophisticated!

Crate and Barrel has great ones!

Cheers!
